  • Background

    The evaluation and analysis of sustainable value chains requires the application of interdisciplinary research approaches. These approaches combine economic, ecological, technical and scientific, legal and social aspects. As a result, value chains can be analyzed in their breadth and depth on a system-wide and process-specific basis.

    Contents of the work

    The successful introduction of PtX technologies depends not only on technical and economic factors, but also on social acceptance and social dynamics. Based on survey data, this work aims to develop a social-empirical model that identifies key influencing factors and mechanisms to strengthen the acceptance and marketing of PtX.

     Objective

    Development of a social-empirical model for analyzing acceptance mechanisms and social levers for the ramp-up of PtX technologies.

     Tasks

    •Literature review on social acceptance of renewable technologies

    •Evaluation of existing survey data (e.g., on acceptance, participation, trust)

    •Development of a social science model (e.g., stakeholder networks, influencing factors)

    •Derivation of measures to promote social support

    •Recommendations for communication strategies and policy measures

     Requirements

    •Interest in social science research and the energy transition

    •Experience with empirical data analysis (e.g., SPSS, R, or Python) is an advantage

    •Analytical thinking and creativity in developing ideas for action
