The project Storage and Cross-linked Infrastructures (SCI) is funded within the current period of program-oriented funding (PoF III) of the Helmholtz association, which runs from 2015 to 2019. It covers six different topics. Our research activities are part of topic 6 which addresses ‘Superconductivity, Networks and System Integration’. We investigate different technologies for decentralized energy systems (e.g. electrical and thermal storages) from an economic perspective as well as the optimal allocation of renewable energies and the corresponding expansion of the transmission grid.
